BYRNT Ceramics is the studio of Ruth Byrne, a ceramic artist and trained teacher based in Orange, in the Central West of NSW. Each piece is wheel-thrown, faceted by hand and finished in satin or matt glazes ceramics designed to be reached for again and again, in the small daily rituals of coffee, tea and shared meals.
Inspired by the hills
The signature undulating rims on BYRNT Ceramics vessels are inspired by the rolling hills of the Orange district, in Central Western NSW, where Ruth grew up. The work also carries the imprint of time spent with pottery traditions in Japan and China, the ritual of tea ceremony, the generosity of communal meals woven through a distinctly Australian palette of white and iron-rich clays.
Meet Ruth Byrne
Ruth Byrne is a ceramic artist and trained teacher working from Orange, NSW. Her practice spans the studio, where each piece is hand-thrown and considered and the workshop floor, where she shares clay with beginners and visitors to the Orange wine region. The same care, the same maker, in two different facets (pun intended).

Walking Aprons - Stocked in Australia
The studio apron more than 10,000 makers swear by, now available without the international wait.
I'm the only Australian stockist of Hannah Rose's Walking Apron. There's a reason I chose to bring them here. Designed in North Carolina by a fellow maker/mother who got tired of fighting with aprons that weren't built for the realities of studio life, the Walking Apron is the one I'd been quietly looking for. A split-leg design that moves with you at the wheel, pockets deep enough for actual tools, cross-back straps so your neck doesn't ache after a long session, and custom fabric that takes whatever you throw at it.
Whether you're a potter ready for an upgrade or hunting for a thoughtful gift for the creative person in your life, the Walking Apron does what an apron should, get out of your way so you can make.
